Distilled in 1957 and bottled in 1983, this Macallan 25 Year Old Anniversary Malt is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from one of the distillery’s most celebrated eras. Matured in sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV, this vintage release forms part of Macallan’s highly regarded Anniversary Malt series.
The Whisky Exchange identifies this 1957 edition as a 75cl distillery bottling, bottled in 1983. This example is presented in its original wooden presentation case.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sherry-led, with raisin, dried fig, date, orange peel, walnut, roasted almond, treacle toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, polished oak, spice and leather.
Palate: Silky and richly sherried, with raisin, fig, orange zest, dark chocolate, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, oak, almond and leather.
Finish: Exceptionally long and warm, with dried fruit, fig, orange peel, dark chocolate, toffee, polished oak, cinnamon, clove, almond and leather.
