The Saint Luis Rey Adamastor Edición Regional Portugal 2023 is a distinctive Regional Edition created exclusively for the Portuguese market and released in mid-2025. Rolled in the elegant Laguito Especial format, it measures 192 mm x 40 ring gauge, a long and slender vitola finished with a characteristic pigtail cap. Habanos officially classifies the Adamastor as full strength.
The name Adamastor comes from the mythological figure in Luís de Camões’ epic poem Os Lusíadas. A personification of the storms, winds and dangers faced by Portuguese navigators, Adamastor gives this release a direct connection to Portugal’s maritime heritage and spirit of exploration.
Production is limited to 10,000 numbered varnished semi-boîte nature boxes of 10 cigars. Each cigar carries the standard Saint Luis Rey band together with the Portugal Edición Regional secondary band, making the presentation an important part of the identity of this release.
Contemporary tasting descriptions note dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, black pepper and leather, with touches of dried-fruit sweetness and a creamier progression as the cigar develops. Its exceptionally long 40-ring format rewards a measured smoking pace and offers a particularly elegant expression of Saint Luis Rey.
