Dupont tells two other chapters: «4000 leagues under the Pacific», chapter 18 of the book, and «Gulf Stream», chapter 19 of its second part. In the latter, Jules Verne evokes the Gulf Stream, a natural force shaping the movement of the oceans and those who are there. Fast-moving and perilous, it also allows Captain Nemo to demonstrate his excellence.
