About This Whisky

A limited single-cask Bruichladdich distilled on 28 May 1972 and bottled on 11 December 2001 for the distillery’s launch in Japan. Matured in bourbon cask #689, it was bottled at natural cask strength of 49.3% ABV. This is bottle 008 of just 404, in a 70cl format.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Tropical and orchard fruits, melon, vanilla cream, floral notes, fresh grass and white pepper.

Palate: Peach, banana and soft tropical fruits, followed by vanilla, honeycomb, herbs and delicate spice.

Finish: Lingering fruit, malt, vanilla and a gentle herbal spice.

Condition & Provenance
Limited Japan-launch release from bourbon cask #689, bottle 008/404, as shown on the rear label. The bottle and labels appear clean, and the turquoise capsule shows minor age-related surface and rim wear. The fill appears high in the shoulder. No presentation box is available.
